There's no such thing at the PSP 2003. There's the PSP-1000, 2000, 3000 & the PSP Go which is the brand new version.
The 1000 - 3000 series are virtually identical with very minor changes, and a bit more extra memory. The 3000 is slightly slimmer.
The PSP Go is completely different in the sense that it doesn't use UMD game cartridges, games are downloaded directly of the Playstation website and saved onto the console's internal drive.
Personally I'd go for the PSP-2000 or 3000. At least you can sell or trade in games once you're done with them0 -
There actually is such a thing as a 2003 or 3003, but not in a widely known retail sense. I also wondered the other week what it meant when I saw a psp 3003 listed on a price comparison site. The site in question said that the 3 on the end refers to what region the console is.

Hi,
The PSP 1000 came out first in 2004. Then the PSP 2000 arrived in 2007. It was also known as the Slim n Lite. The 2000 was a considerable change since the first one. As it says it became slimmer and lighter :T
In 2008 we got the PSP 3000. The main difference between this and the 2000 is 'an enhanced screen + built in microphone' and some other smaller changes.
I have a PSP 3000 and a friend has the PSP 2000 and there is little to no difference in everyday use. They have stopped making the 2000 but there are still plenty available at good prices. Don't be fooled by the fact the PSP 3000 is the 'newer model', like I was, hunt out the best deal.
From what I know of the PSP Go it is not as popular as the traditional PSP's. It appears to be a completely new medium. I personally don't like it; it is too expensive and the PSP 2000 / 3000 satisfy every portable gaming need

personally ~ the new system has the same video-out port and uses the exact same video cables as the PSP-2000, but Sony has upgraded the PSP-3000's video output to support gameplay output on interlaced displays using composite video cables. The PSP-3000 will be compatible with the same accessories as the PSP-2000.0
