iPod sharing music over home network

After a few recent PC crashes I am in the process of putting my home network back togethor and I would like to ensure I get things right from the ground up.

I would like some advice on sharing music over a mixed home network. Have two PC's and one mac and I have set up a dedicated network drive just for music.

Ideally I would like all the songs to reside on the shared network drive and for all users to be able to;

(1)Access and play mausic from itunes on tgeir own PC/Mac
(2) Be able to sync their own ipod to their own playlist from their own PC

Hope my explanation is good enough for a bit of help on this one!

If you store your tunes on a windows box, all the other computers should be able to access the drive, Also if you keep itunes open on a computer, there is an option to "Share Music" over the network, that will allow other itune users on your network to see your playlist

what music player are you using to sync the Ipods

if its windows media player then what you need to do is
1. create a directory on 1 machine where all music is stored
2. ensure this directory is shared and all PC's can map to that drive,
3. when you open media player you can search for new media
4. search for new media within that mapped drive
5. each PC can sync to Ipod
