Main Dealer Servicing

Had the car from new (Volvo), now 7 years old, low mileage. Always serviced by dealership. In view of the probable low value in part exchange/resale is it worth paying the extra for main dealer service?

If I don't get back to thank you it's because I am away for a week, not ignoring your advice.:beer:

You'd be better off finding an independent Volvo specialist.

Bet it'd be easy to source one not too far away!

Depends how much extra it is. If on a £200 service, the extra is 5 or 10 quid, then I would take it to Volvo. But if it's £400 from Volvo and £200 from a local garage then I would go for the cheaper option...!

As you don't say where your based I have looked up a link for you.

Try looking on Volvo Owners Club who have a list of non franchise garages recommended by members.

Also worth signing up as their forum has a wealth of information. It's my second home from here!!!:j

I have a 1996 960SE with 204000+ miles on the clock and full dealer service history up to 201000. But I won't be using a dealer to service mine as it wouldn't be economically viable. Plus I plan to keep her going forever, my target is Gold membership of the High Mileage Club (500000 Miles) currently only a Bronze member. :sad:
