Laptop accidental damage cover

hi all and thanks for reading. my sister is buying her first laptop today, it is just a standard £350 model but she is concerned about accidental damage as she has young children. Does anyone know of anywhere she can insure her laptop to cover accidental damage in the home. She is on a very low income and doesn't have home insurance. I have had a look through various sites but it does get a bit confusing I was wondering if anyone knows of any good insurance deals/companys out there.
many thanks in advance.

She can waste money by insuring it seperately for a premium of circa £50 or he could probably take out content insurance that covers the lap top along with the rest of her contents for between £50 and £100 if she follows the advice on MSE / uses cash back sites.

I agree, I got buildings, contents and accidental damaged cover for £57 for the whole year this year. Worth doing a few number cruches to see. And dont forget the cashback sites as they make a real difference.
  • most policies will not cover you under accidental damage for items designed to be portable - eg: laptops.

you will need personal possesions cover. which cannot be taken out be itself.

you will need a minimum of £5000 contents cover to be able to take it - it will then be covered for loss, theft or accidental damage anywhere in the world.

for £5000 contents - with pb cover - you will be looking at between £70-£100 pounds for the year.
Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!

Once again you are not correct, a very small minority of Insurers will exclude accidental damage to portable items in the home if you do not have possessions cover
