Hi
I`m wondering if anyone can help me. I would like to apply for a 0% credit card deal, or a long term low rate such as Barclaycard to pay down some of the outstanding balance. I wanted to know if I would be likely to be accepted. My details are as follows:
Income £30,000
Homeowner
No late payments on any cards/loans etc.
970 rating on Experian
However, the total outstanding balance I have is large:
£8,200 Halifax
£4,000 Mbna
plus £6,500 outstanding loan. I`m currently paying around £250/mth just on interest. I haven`t used either of the credit cards for over a year now, but have only been paying the interest.
Thanks

Your circumstances are relatively similar to mine (slightly higher earnings and debt) and I have been aceepted for M&S and Nationwide cards recently, both with a £3500 credit limit.
At a guess I would say that you will be accepted but that would probably wont get a credit limit of more than £4k ish.0 -
Thanks for that Serbask- Do you mind me asking why you decided to go for those two cards, because I`m undecided which ones to go for?0

They were the best two for balance transfers given that I have been stoozing for ages. I was transfering away from a Virgin Card (still the best deal) and a Hailfax Card. And before those two I had an Abbey Zero and Egg, so not many cards left to pick from!0

I`ve just been accepted for both the Post office and the Nationwide CC`s. Great! Don`t know the balance they are going to give me yet.
Thanks for your help Serbask0
