Hi folks
Looking at going to York for the night on 5th December. Really struggling to find a reasonable hotel.
I prefer the anonymity of a Travelodge/Premier thingy...but any suggestions?
Many thanks

Travelodge and Ramada are opposite each other I think. Travelodge is full though.

York is awfull, expensive, and a lot of places require a minimum of 2 night stay.

york isn't awful, thanks very much for your insight though.
have you looked at trip advisor for ratings? lots of b and bs especially on scarcroft road, bootham etc are nice and reasonable'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -
York - Awful, Dont be silly, its one of the best most beautiful places to be and no, i dont live there but visit often.
Loads to do, loads to see, I think youve been somewhere else and thought you were in York.
Expensive - dont know whre you got that idea from either.
Its no different to any other citymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

York is lovely - loads of nice quirky shops and cafes, nice pubs, lots of history, plenty of stuff to do (museums etc). In fact the only sort of bad thing I can think of about it is that it can be fairly quiet of a night and doesn't have many big shops, but I rather like that.
I am originally from Yorkshire though and went to uni in York..."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Having a nightmare trying to find somewhere with availability! Booo.
Thinking of Edinburgh or...any suggestions? Need somewhere relatively close to home (Newcastle upon Geordieland). Wanting somewhere quirky with decent shopping and decent ish nightlife.
Thanks all for your help though!0
