Looking for a bedside cabinet

Options
Hello. Now that I've bought my new laptop (necessary as the old one kicked the bucket but damaging my credit in the process), my bedside cabinet is too small to keep it safe - the laptop hangs way over the edge. I'm looking for a new replacement cabinet, but the cheapest I can find that even nearly matches the size I need is £50 found online via Froogle.

I'm looking for one that is at least 58cm high, and at least 42x42cm square.

I'd be grateful if anyone could help me to find one slightly cheaper. I might sell my old one on eBay or locally in the paper. Looking for one that is maybe pine or similar, a pleasant colour and not too dark.

Thanks.

Hussein.

Have you thought of looking in secondhand shops? My husbands granny gave us a hideous wood veneer bedside cabinet, which however was a fairly classic shape. I painted it white ( properly, primer, undercoat etc) and it now looks like something expensive from the White Company.

Thanks. I'm more of an online person myself, but the size of the table really is too small and I am very concerned that one night the laptop will get knocked off it (it's a 17 inch model). But will try the shops tomorrow. Also seen a couple of cabinets on eBay, but will have to check to ensure postage isn't something ridiculous.

    Thanks.

I'd be more inclined to try freecycle - people give away that sort of thing. I've seen quite a bit of furniture on the london group recently.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

Thanks. Willl take a look. I knew of gumtree (sell a bit on there) but had not heard of freecycle. Always keen to learn more so thanks.
