Urm, used the search button and typed in Eon! I'm quite concerned about this and Eon have fobbed me off on the phone to avoid giving an answer.

As for the amount of posts I have made... all I can say is I have a life away from the internet and only used it when I need something (isn't that what its there for?)

Well I appreciate that you must be really concerned over receiving something in error, that you came back to MSE using this account after 18 months, but what more of an answer do you need from E.On?

They have explained the information was sent to you in error and that you should destroy the erroneously sent correspondence.

They have? That's good you have now been informed. :T
They promised they would inform all those afffected and they obviously have been as good as their promise because what you actually posted earlier was:

We are disgusted that this error has been made, this is the very information you protect and to think that my details have been sent to someone else for them to do with what they wish is beyond me....

    Update:
In the post this morning by recorded delivery we received a letter of apology along with a goodwill gesture of a £50 M&S voucher. They have also advised that we seek advice from an Identity Theft website.

Hi What are EON doing for people affected? ...

Which part of the response given by the E.On rep did you not understand?
...We have tried to contact all of the customers affected and currently trying to reach those we have not been able to get through to. We will also be writing to the affected customers...

It appears they are giving away £50 worth of M&S vouchers to those affected too together with advice on where to seek extra help.

Hi there Lostmydetails I Too Am one of the unfortunate customers who private details E.on have disclosed, i have received an apology letter and £50 worth of M&S vouchers as a gesture of goodwill. I have also been given lots of advise and have been told i should change my bank account number, this is going to be very inconvenient as i am going to have to change all my direct debits, as you can imagine this will be very time consuming and £50 wont really compensate me for the aggravation it will of caused.
I have an appointment next week with a solicitor and will let you know the outcome.
