Had youngest dd at the hospital today, she split her chin open falling on the radiator trying to look out of window at snow. Typical, tried to keep her safe from the icy roads and she has an accident indoors! The gash was really wide and they thought they would have to stitch it but managed to pull together with glue & steri-strips. She's missed her dancing concert.

Going bowling tomorrow (thanks to Toniq for informing us of the 1p offer!);)

So there i am up at 6am to take Paul to train station, drop him and drive home, about to strap dog up for a walk,
when Paul rings and says all trains to london are mega delayed and to pick him up as he has cold feet and it's too far to walk from three bridges,
So off i go get back in car, drive past big roundabout, come up past tescos and take the little roundabout towards the station and watch in horror as my car follows the car ahead and skids on black ice hidden under slush............... remembered to steer into the skid and managed to control my car as car ahead goes wildly into oncoming traffic, who thankfully are driving mega slow as they see all this unfold,(all this whlst radio 1 played some crappy shakin stevens xmas tune) so straighten car up and carry on to the station and he moans i kept him waitingng whilst it's cold?!?!?!
I explain what just happened, and he disregards my *mad skidding moment* and asks if i'll drive him to town later to finish his shopping........................xxxx

Morning all.

Hope you are ok Toni, it's scary, we did something similar on Saturday morning and abandoned our trip out. Seems a bit better here this morning (a 'toasty' 0 degrees right now... warmest for 4 days!) but we're forecast more snow tonight and tomorrow.

Am at work - only today and tomorrow left, this afternoon is our staff Christmas dinner. The heating is broken and it's 13 degrees in here - they're talking about closing the building it's sooooo cold!

Anyway hope you're all ok and will have a fantastic Monday - shortest day today, it's all brighter and warmer from here on in!
