If you ask for a basic bank account you won't be credit checked although they do need to an identity check and not being on the elec roll may affect the ability (or speed) in which they can do that. (Choose a bank not connected to any of your old debts)

  • What'd happen if they do a credit check on me?
I'm going to put my self on electrol first then wait 6 months and apply for a bank account. I might get a credit report from equifax and see what's on there.

Do I need to declare anything when opening a bank account?
