Hi Techies,
Can somebody please recommend to me a decent external usb wireless adaptor and where I can buy it from.
I have narrowed my wireless problems down to my belkin internal adaptor, as I have reinstalled windows xp numerous times and even updated my routers firmware twice!
So my belkin adaptor will be going on the scrap heap as soon as I can get a replacement.
By the way I said to my wife that I was going to get a pc part that would fix the wireless connection ie a new adaptor and she said whats that then a cable.......!!
Bloomin cheek, mind you if this usb adaptor doesnt do the trick.......!!!

Tried it with/without encryption? Netstumbler?
(If you are still getting problems with only a couple of websites, and everything else is working fine, changing cards may not make any difference.). Could you borrow one from someone to prove it is the card?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Hi Albert,
I tried with netstumbler and it only displayed my network even though windows displays two, mine and a neighbours!!You can't con an honest man!0 -
It will only display networks that are broadcasting the SSID, or known to the PC you are trying it on, but XP normally works the same way? strange.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Yeah its a strange one, I would have thought netstumbler would have displayed both networks not just mine. You can't con an honest man!0

I hve just spotted http://www.devolo.co.uk/uk_EN/index.html, looks very interesting, although rather pricey! You can't con an honest man!0

It's an option, but not as easy as wireless, which is usually ok when it works..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Think I will keep trying with wireless, its annoying as it only loses connection when on http://www.lovefilm.com, the card loses connection with the router, rather than the router losing connection with the internet. You can't con an honest man!0

It is a weird problem, are you overloading it with a movie download. Try doing a ping -t xx.xx.xx.xx to your routers ip address at the same time as using the site.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Dont think its being overloaded as only one windows open or tab in firefox and its just text and a few pictures no big filesYou can't con an honest man!0
