I find this company brilliant:

For an annual policy for my partner and myself, worldwide cover and a pre-existing condition we paid £77.0 -
Hi goanmad I rang flexicover and they don't cover the independent traveller. They do cover the flight cancellation but not any knock-on effects/losses. To be honest I also phoned Aviva and neither actually knew what I meant by independent traveller - I had to explain it to the person answering the phone. Previously we had a normal policy with flexicover and they will send you a reminder to renew which will probably by double of your current policy. If you want to renew it's best to go through moneysupermarket again as if a new customer and take out a "new" policy with them if they are still cheapest and watch out for a discount code they'll email to you after your current policy has expired - will come in handy to save 10-20%.0

Oh that's a shame. We never renew our policies, it's always worth renegotiating, isn't it?
Last year we used Karma (Martin's recommendation). Despite writing, emailing and telephoning to confirm we didn't wish to renew our policy (giving over 35 days notice) they still deducted the amount from our account - grrrr! We've got it back now but still, very cheeky.0
