Has the CCJ come off your credit files?
How is the rest of your credit record, other than the CCJ?0 -
The CCJ has now been removed, as the 6yrs was up last month. The rest of the file is quite good all 3 accounts upto date green zeros and only a couple of (1s) from a couple of yrs ago.
So hopefully my 1st Mainstream card since I've sorted myself out.0 -
Have you not learned anything? Stay away from credit cards or you will forever be in debt .Live within your means if you cant afford stuf dont buy it .You seem to be happy you got approved ,why did you have ccj run away from these cards please save up your money and then buy it with no interest

Mike I have got sorted now after a ccj etc after being left in lurch by a so-called mate!! I sometimes work away from home and a credit card Is Vital for me.
Believe me i thank you for your advice, but lessons have been learned and the card will be used as its intended buy get interest free and paid on time.
Thanks again.0 -
I was where you were ,up to my eyes in debt, got it paid off took a long time,I will never borrow money from anyone again.
Please think about using only cash, debit card or pre paid visa type card.
I have not used a credit card for six years it can be done it a little tough to start with but well worth it.
All i can say it is great not to owe money to anyone and i am not a what you would call a super rich guy, average wage.
Sorry if last post sounded mean I just hate credit cards and seeing people in money trouble and making others rich.

I years ago was the same with moneyand credit but I have a few credit cards now and manage my money fine. There is also good reasons of having credit cards rather than debit or pre paid as you are protected when spending on credit.0

Mikey, this is a credit card forum for people to talk about credit cards. You telling everyone on here to get rid of them is just counterproductive. If they wanted rid, they wouldn't be asking for advice on which are good options, etc. Please run along to https://www.selfrighteousexpert.com and waste their time instead.0 -

Hopefully you will follow your own advice!
Mike had an opinion and that is what a forum is for. Couple that with the fact that it was far more valid and useful than your opinion aswell.
The OP had a CCJ drop off and went and applied for 3 credit cards straight away until he was successful.
Maybe they do need a card, but that sounds more like desperation.0 -

Rubbish. It sounds like he applied for a card, was declined, and then did this twice again until accepted. Without the CCJ there is no reason why they shouldn't get a card, and why should they stop trying when 2 lenders say no?
Mike has an opinion, but has posted on several threads urging people to get rid of their cards when this is clearly not what they want to do. It's the equivalent to a God-botherer pouncing on you when you walk down the street. Unwelcome and forcing their opinion onto other people.0
