I've been making tartan dog coats and selling them at car boots. Only one person was offended he was a Scottish man  is anyone else offended.
Are there any particular 'clans' colours I should avoid in case of the consequences....oh and I'm a sassernack (excuse the spelling) so that doesn't help I suppose:o :rotfl:

As you may deduce from my avatar I am a true Scot and would certainly have no objections to purchasing a tarten coat for my dog. Unless of course it was the tarten of my sworn enemy (just joking).
John
and if that avatar is you, please, please please don't come back as a man!!!!!!!0 -
Tartan anything is bought by a certain type of person - generaly american tourists and green barber jacket wearers, neither of which should be taken seriously!
Is there any chance he was objecting to clothing on dogs rather than the tartan?Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -
I'm really sorry that you've met such a poor example of our nation. I'd bet that if you dug into his knowledge he wouldn' have an inkling about how tartan has been used and manipulated as fashion throughout the years (esp by the Victorians I think).
Plus, his attitude means we can't take the p!ss about the World Cup without the English getting uppity........
Oh, and Sassenach can also be applied to the Lowlanders of Scotland, those who were not Gaelic speakers.Apparently, if you lose one sense, others senses are enhanced. That's why those who have no sense of humour have an enlarged sense of self-importance.0 -

Oh yes definitely, I'm VERY offended. I'm very offended that anyone could be offended by a tartan waist coat for a dog. I'm going to write to my MP, the local newspaper, and the Women's Institute (WI).
Sheeesh!! These people need to get out more.
Who was it, the Tories, that they're hiring someone like Richard Branson to sort out the politically correct loonies we have today?
How about Gollywogs? There!! Hot x buns maybe? If you speak to any of the supposed ethnic minorities that are apparently offended by all this stuff, they think we've all gone mad.
I love tartan waist coats for dogs. Keep at it OP!!0 -

I love tartan, I'm not american or wear a barber jacket - prefer to think of it as an acquired taste, like Guinness

Could have been yes.
Thinking of making some St. George ones for the World Cup and beyond next..:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
