Hi Everyone,
Really after some help here.
We recently bought a second hand car from a trader, however, after about 30-40 miles the stop light came on and we discovered the engine was covered in oil.
We have had to pay to have the car taken back to the trader to be fixed, ts been there about 10 days now.
Its now reached the point where we are thinking we would rather have our money back and buy another car elsewhere, is this something we can do?
When the trader said to get the car back to him, I asked who would be paying for the repairs to the car, he wouldnt answer my question and just said it would be sorted when he knew what was wrong. Are we racking up a huge bill? I have never agreed to pay for any of these repairs and feel that he should accept the costs as he really shouldnt have let a car off his forcourt in such a condition.
Also, as the car was purchased on our credit card, are we covered by the protection for faulty goods?
Any advice here would be greatly apreciated
Cheers

Really you should talk to the trader, explain that you don't have confidence in the car and that you would like your money back. Also mention that you have paid for a car that you haven't had in your posession since purchase.
I would say that it is reasonable to request your money back in full. However - have the documents been transferred into your name yet?0
