Free ferry voucher for France or Ireland, for five people, for up to five days

Blimey .. I've never been able to get a quote for less than £340 for the car to get to Ireland, and then passengers are virtually free - so if anyone knows how to take a car for less I'd love to know! (And yes, I'm signed up to the 'ferry' op sites, and the 'greatprice ferry' ones too!!! )0

Sorry to disagree with you we have just done Speedferries on 27th May the ferry was filthy and the staff very unhelpful - we booked and paid the extra to come back Sea France (who we usually travel with but got the cheap offer with speedferries) - have vowed never to go Speedferries again - just my personal opinion .....0 -
Been trying to book since about March this year. Kept telling us they were not accepting booking yet, try later. Then it was new computer system was playing up, finally this month when my wife phoned they wouldnt proceed with booking until I told them where the voucher came from. I then realised that it would cost a bit to get new passports for the whole family, so its UK holidays again this year (until I finish paying for the new extension!!)Humans only use around forty percent of their brains capacity. Imagine what we could achieve if we used the other seventy percent!0

I went to use this voucher earlier this year on a trip to southern Ireland. I phoned 5 or 6 times and each time all I got was we are not taking bookings for that crossing yet phone next week" or "the Irish Ferry computers are down phone next week", when I eventually got someone to take my booking the price with a car was EXACTLY the same as the price I was quoted on the Irsh Ferries website! so I told them to forget it and booked directly.
So unless you want to go on foot I personely wouldn't bother!!:mad:0 -

Been with Speedferries twice now, and although the boat was smaller than the big ferries, it seemed to me that they didn't try to "package" the trip, with fruit machines, expensive restaurants etc. etc. The trip tool about an hour, and it was great - clean, and the staff were very helpful.
I do know that speedferries caused a LOT of disquiet amongst the other ferry companies, and staff - they were cheaper and faster, surprise suprise!0 -
I didn't even receive the voucher they promised me. I have used points I've accumulated to get free stuff such as cds and gadgets - I accumulate the points through doing online surveys and I have an online dvd rental (lovefilm) who give me ipoints for staying with them (every month). I would say its worthwhile having ipoints.0

I am not sure if it works for Ireland but if when you book for a ferry to France, just blag it on the phone you have the vouchers from the newspaper. These can be for the £1 per person as foot passenger ones, even if you are booking for a car. They will then ask what paper, blag it again and they almost put the words in your mouth. When you turn up at the port, they NEVER ask for the tokens. They are not interested in the tokens; they just want your tickets and passport. Happy travelling and happy shopping with the cheap booze and fags. Fags in Belgium are the cheapest, with only a 30-minute drive from Calais. Want directions to Belgium, e-mail me.

Sorry to read someone thought the Speeed Ferry to be dirty. I have used it twice for return crossings, found the staff more than helpful, ship not dirty, crossing only 50 minutes and only £65 return for car and two adults.
If you buy multiple tickets when on offer, it's even better still.
My only wish is that it was on the Portsmouth to Cherbourg or Caen run, to save me a 200 mile drive the other side.
Take a look at L&D ferries also, running from Portsmouth to Le Harve and only around £100.00p return.

You can get to france for a day trip for a pound.
phone p&0 on 08705 202020 (there is probably a cheepre non 0870 phone number for this) ask for the daily mail offer - onlt until the end of june - but if you mention almost any paper the star thesun or the lacal kent messanger or dover express you will almost certainly get a good deal - less than the £10 normal fare.
Once in calais it is possible to walk into calais and almost certainly quicker. There is a bus from the port to the rail station costing 1.5euros -as much as the crossing! it laeves when they feel like it ,very french on the way back youre probably stuck with their bus depending how much beer wine and cigarettes youve bought.
happy sailing0
