A mate of mine was cold called the other week regarding reclaiming ppi, wanted £150 upfront and the £350 for every £1000 back.I told him dont sign anything i will try and get it back for you, told him about this site and the people who help out free of charge, also told him about the money i got back all down to this site and the advice that was handed out(all free of charge!) Right then, he has had loans on and off for 15 years all but the last one had ppi, he does not have all old account numbers only the current one, whats the best advice to get all the old account numbers please and how far back can he claim, thanks in advance

Hi Stellaboy amd good for you.:T:T
Well worth still trying.
Ask your mate if he has any old bank statements, when the loan repayments were made, the account number should be shown next to the repayments, or take a chance with a SAR request.
I requested for a SAR earlier this year and was surprised to have even received info as from the 90's.;)
I was going to suggest if your mate has online banking to check the statements on there also, but they normally only allow to go back as far 5/6 years online.
If some have only been settled in the last say 5/6 years the SAR's should provide at least some details which should help and include hopefully the account numbers.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Cheers di for getting back,he has shredded all the paper work, dosent have a computer either. So do you reckon the best bet is to send a SAR to his bank and get the info off the old statments, the loans go far back as 15 years when he got divorced then kept getting new loans to pay the other one off told him might only be able to go back six years, all the other loans had ppi apart from the last one which was not included0

Your welcome stellaboy.
I think this may be the only option he has in this case, otherwise if he has a good bank, he could consider going in direct and ask if they could kindly let him know the account numbers, he does not have to give any reason, but they may supply them if they still hold them.
Otherwise yet hopefully the SAR will hold the details he requires, fingers crossed.
Even though SAR's do normally go back only 5/6 years, he may be lucky to receive some info going back even further, I do hope so, as this would be a help to him.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
