I'm sure they will reschedule it as soon as they can, did they say why it was cancelled? I don't see that making a complaint can help they wouldn't have cancelled it without good reason.

  • Are you sure this was the court????????????

It is not entirely unknown for the opponent to ring up with this kind of statement pretending to be the court and the court to rule against the person not turning up.

No it was deffinately the court as I called them and checked on the tribunal website for the number and then spoke to one of there supvisors as they advised it would be after christmas which is quite unacceptable.
I have written to them pleading them to make it before and sent it also
to my MP who is aware of the hardship I am suffering.
    help gratefully received

they want to reschedule for after christmas but I am pleading with them to have it seen before. They said it was just because one of there cases had over ran what I don't get is why it has to be me and so late notice I am quite disgusted why can't they just move all the over times along.

Maybe the case that they are hearing is over running which is why the tribunal have postponed your case until after Christmas. Christmas isnt that far away. Tribunals work in mysterious ways and some cases take time to resolve..be patient as Christmas is only 6 weeks from today..presumably you have had to wait for the hearing in the first place so I cannot see what hardship you will have if you wait until the tribunal are ready to hear your case.

No I can't wait past Christmas as I need the money they have offered me
a small sum already and this won't cover my mortgage payment or pay off
many debts and would make it a very tight christmas. I have been waiting since August in any case.

They are a bit busy at the moment.

Anyway, why should someone else be put into that position, just to please you? And don't forget, you may not get an immediate decision, and almost certainly will not get any money straight away, so even if it had taken place before Christmas it is unlikely that any settlement would have been paid in time to go shopping.

Have you spoken to ACAS? If they are offering a settlement, there may be a bit more to be had by holding out a bit longer. Also, have you spoken to your mortgage company if you do not have any income?

And why should OP be put in that position.
