Parcel delivered broken?

Options
Hello,

I bought some decorative glass blocks from ebay and paid £10 for a courier delivery. The package arrived today, ripped open along the side with the sound of broken glass coming from within. My boyfriend didn't know what to do in my absence so refused delivery, the delivery man was really unhelpful and has only given us a card to arrange redelivery. My question is can I do anything about this? Whose fault is it and should I just kiss goodbye to my £20 and my blocks? Please help.

Violet

I would contact the company you ordered them from and explain - it's their job to package them in such a way as to be protected and it's their contract with the courier, so if it was broken by the courier then they would have to be the ones to pursue a claim. I certainly wouldn't write off £20 at this stage though - you are entitled to what you paid for and at £10 for delivery, I think the service you have received is poor. Good luck!

Did your BF sign for it?

If you do sign, I think you have accepted that the condition of the goods is satisfactory.

ALWAYS check before signing for a delivery, or write on the delivery form , "ITEM NOT CHECKED"

As said its up to the seller to seek compensation from the delivery company, not you.
