Is it worth repairing my Kenwood Food Processor?

Just wanted to hear from anyone who has bought new parts for an older machine. I've found the parts online for the 'bargain' price of £53.45 plus nearly £6.00 postage! Hmmm...
I'm unable to test the machine as the parts that are broken are the ones needed to turn on the motor! So I assume the motor works but I don't know!
It was a wedding present 6 years ago and it died 2 years ago, has been in a cupboard since. I cook frequently and made use of a cheap processor from a family member since who now would like it back...
To buy it brand new seems to be £90.00.
Is it worth buying the spares? Should I just go and buy a better more up to date model? I doubt I'd choose this one again (It was £150.00 when we got it).
We haven't got the spare cash to jump up to the next level of £200 for the ones I'd really like!
Thoughts would be appreciated! I've procrastinated on this issue for 2 years already!

Don't buy the spares! I did that for my Kenwood and the spares were just as rubbish as the originals and it soon broke down again. I wrote to Kenwood customer services and they were completely uninterested.
Take my advice and buy a different brand altogether. I gave up on Kenwood and bought a Cuisinart and three years later it's still going stong.0 -
Thank you - sounds like good advice! Guess I might have start a fund for a new processor - maybe I'll ebay or freecycle it for parts!0
