An update - after e-mailing T-mobile requesting the official complaints procedure and highlighting the various routes I would explore to take this further, I heard back from the complaints team today (replying to my previous e-mail from almost 3 weeks ago!) apologising and putting me back to my originally agreed 18 month contract, more minutes/texts for less price.
Would suggest that other people in a similar situation do the same!0
