Hi you wonderful technically minded MSErs I wonder if anyone can solve this one , you seem to manage everything else.
This morning I received an e-mail through outlook express and the strange thing was the sender was using my name which is very uncommon in fact I am the only one in the uk with my name....anyhoo I automatically deleted but when I checked the deleted bit I accidentally opened it and it revealed the numbers 969 and thats it . I tried to send an e-mail after this and the words were disappearing off my screen. I did a complete virus scan with Mcafee and it revealed nothing however when I did the same scan with ewido it revealed 10 infected items which I automatically cleaned. Can anyone throw any light on this? why did ewido pick up infections and not Mcafee which I pay for? THANKS

Interested in any replies as i got a similar e-mail this morning, didn't open it though and have had no problems.Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.0

Some firms are more responsive with issuing the definitions to detect the viruses.0

no one company picks up everything, Mcafee are one of the better ones, and they do update daily.. (have you got your AV set to update automatically, and have a current subscription)
What did ewido pick up, was it a virus, or spyware/tracking cookies etc??Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
