Offer accepted but still advertised with another agent!

Anyone got any thoughts on this please? We are in a proceedable position, had an offer accepted on a lovely house just over a week ago, £5K below asking (up for sale with two agents; the second agent only having been instructed the day before we offered.) Valuation booked for next week, solicitor instructed and everything seems to be going swimmingly.....except......although the original agent we offered through immediately took the house off the market and listed it as 'sold stc', it is still up for sale with Agent no. 2, both on Rightmove and on the agent's own website, where it is marked as 'available.'
We have expressed our concerns to the agent we are buying through on three occasions and although they have promised to speak to the vendor, the listings remain unchanged and it appears nothing has been done.
The agents say as far as the vendor is concerned, we are the ones buying it, we have acted quickly, shown commitment and they are going with us. I replied that to all intents and purposes, the place is actually still on the market, so anyone could just come along and make a higher offer.
We have met the vendors and although they *seem* to have integrity, you can never be sure!
Agent no. 1 said that they would speak to the vendor about it but that it was really up to them to advise Agent no. 2 of the situation and ask them to withdraw it, which of course is true.
We did not make our offer under the condition that the house was taken off the market as this usually happens anyway, plus we had no idea at the time that two agents were involved, or we would have made it a condition of our offer that the house was taken off the market.
We really don't want to lose the house but won't hesitate to walk away at the slightest sign of any games.
Is there cause for concern or are we being unreasonable in case it's just an oversight? What would you do?

Maybe agent number 2 is a little slow.
Phone them up tell them you want a viewing on the property you have seen on thw website, hopefully they will say that one has gone, or book you in and then cancle it.
Simples!
Start to worry if they do something else!Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -
Contact the vendors - tell them of your concern and ask them to instruct the other agent to take it off the market.0

*I really wouldn't worry about it. It is probably the estate agency being lazy.*
Has the vendor already found somewhere to move into? If so you're even more quids in.
You should have agreed that it was off the market, this is standard - but if you don't ask you don't get.
If this continues - Tell the agent that you are not willing to persue the house sale until it is off the market and no viewings are being completed.
This will not put you in any bad stead as they vendor will just know how serious you are.0 -
Thanks - the vendor is going into rented.
We will phone Agent no. 2 and see if they offer a viewing, which they shouldn't be doing.
If they do, we will be contacting the vendor to ask what's actually going on.0 -

But if they do offer a viewing it could mean the vendor has not instructed them to take it off the market. I would contact vendor first - that's the sensible thing to do.0 -
Well, with my Miss Marple hat on, I called Agent no. 2 and they said that particular house was sold. I asked why it was still being advertised on their website and they apologised, but while I was on the phone, would I like to register.....?
Obviously short of stuff to sell.
Thanks v. much for all your replies!0
