Hi catastrophe 10- first of all, change your name on here to something like- THE SUN WILL SHINE AGAIN AND SOON....I'm a fine one to talk as I just came on here today after many months of crying and stress and trying to hold my life together. Today, someone called USELESS WITH WONGA replied to me and it was so informative and positive, it made me change my views. You have to read all the positive things and keep asking questions on here and get ANGRY..... earlier today I was in a pathetic state, that was at 3pm......its now 6pm and I feel empowered with the information Ive been given. I have a long road to go but at least I know I can and will get help from here. I wish you all the luck you deserve. WE WILL OVERCOME THIS and THANK YOU tall all the good people on here, most importantly, Martin for the lifeline. x0

Hi Catastrophe
Fear not - we are all here to help. The people on here helped me get through bankruptcy last year and I and others will help you too.
First of all, congratulations on completing your first step in the bankruptcy process. Evaluating your position and accepting that bankruptcy is the right option for you is a difficult decision. It was the most difficult part of the process for me. I felt guilty, was worried about the consequences, felt I'd let people down, worried what would happen next etc. However, I know now that it was the right thing for me.
The second stage is completing the forms but there is no need to get stressed about this. You've got help with the forms (from your doctor and all of us on here). Fill the forms as best you can. You may be asked to supply statements and other proofs at a later stage - it doesn't matter if you can't, they'll get them from banks etc. It's not the end of the world if you make a genuine mistake on your form or miss off an account etc so don't worry when completing the forms. Be sure to mention your health on the forms as it's almost certainly had an impact on your finances.
The court process is daunting for most but in reality, it's a very simple process - no pressure from anyone. I felt a little bit like 'is that it?' and then felt a little flat but it was easy. For me I felt that I had worked myself up about it but it was just an anti-climax in the end. Really nothing to worry about.
The OR interview was a worry for me but it really didn't need to be. The OR just does their job and for me, that was the last I really heard from them.
I'm now a month away from discharge (I didn't get early discharge). I'm in a much better place that I was this time last year. Looking back, I think everything was a worry for me but it's easier than you think. Just try to switch off from it as best you can. Any concerns you have can almost certainly be answered from us. You can get through this. I hope you can see that the answers you've had in this thread alone shows that we are here to help.
Good luck and all the best.0 -
Hi and welcome Catastrophe and wanttoseethelight! Just take things step by step - no need to take everything in at once - although I know once you start reading you just can't stop! We can all help with the forms and any other questions you may have.

hi welcome catastrophe and wanttoseethelight...you're in good company on here don't worry. i'm not bipolar but suffer with depression and see a psychiatrist, my symptoms have definitely got worse over the last few weeks, so i'm going to try and increase my sessions..
i have read and read and read and read on here (oh dear) and have found that forarmed is forwarned. the more info you have it reduces the unknown element. it is good to talk to people in the same boat, you realise you are not alone.
make sure you pop back to the doctor if you start feeling worse. there is always someone on here for support, you can do it x0 -
Thanks very much. I have calmed down a little. This is too hard.
Can I just ask, will I be able to tell the court and the OR that I have mental health problmes, ive written it on my form, but I will be a mess when I go to see them. Also I would rather see the OR F2F as I have a real problem with telephones?
Thanks again, I wish you all well0 -
yes cataastrophe mentine in the begingin of your interview . i did that an explain to them that i may take a pause if i need it , my Or was fine about it and they are very understanding.
regarding the telephone, me too i have big issue with it . my Or agreed to discuss any relevant matter through my other half . this has not been much of a problem.BSC number 1830 -
I would talk to your doctor and ask if you can be Referred to a psychiatrist because they may be able to offer unlicensed drugs that a doctor can not. I am on a unlicensed drug but I have been thinking of killing my self over my debt. This is the wrong thing because there is other optionscatastrophe10 wrote: »Hi there,
Im Bipolar looking to go BR in January when Ive raised the fees.
My doctor is helping me with the forms as are the CAB, but im spiralling head-long into an episode and I don't know quite what to do to calm down. Im hearing voices and imagining allsorts. I know my illness of old and I also know it is quite normal to be stressed, but I can't take much more.
Anybody here been though this with a mental health problem? I don't think I can do this on my own...
Thank you for your time.0 -
hi catastrophe i think you can ask for a face to face interview rather than a phone interview, can't see why that would be a problem.
oregon - i'm glad you see there are other options, are you alright at the moment? make sure you keep venting on here if you need, we're all in this together:o0 -

They'll have to accommodate you. Mental illness is classed as disability. You have every right to ask for a F2F interview. Having said that, I doubt you'll have to demand it - they'll be happy to help. They really are very polite and helpful.catastrophe10 wrote: »Can I just ask, will I be able to tell the court and the OR that I have mental health problmes, ive written it on my form, but I will be a mess when I go to see them. The only thing to bear in mind is you may need to travel for it. There are only a certain number of offices in the country.BR 22/10/2009 ED 08/07/20100
