Perhaps you could take her out for the day instead - soft play area, swimming or the like?

Or open a savings account but I guess you want to see her opening/enjoying her present.

Has she got outdoor toys for the summer?

this question was asked on another forum i use il copy and paste some of the replies including my own ones to see if they are any use to you.

i bought my friend little girl a charm braclet then every year and landmark event i buy her a charm to represent it. Her family also get her charms too
Or a little siver/gold nursery braclet argos do them.
Or make a montage of photos/cards etc in a book and add to it over the years

    a cherished teddy,

debenhams do lots of baby keepsakes in real silver they aint cheap but they r beautiful they do things like photo frames a scroll holder to keep babys birth certificate in baby cutlery sets and dont forget with something like this you can get it ingraved with date name etc dont know whether that would be something u would be interested in but when i had my daughter i was given a couple of bits from different people n i ave put them away for her for when she is older

u could paint her a picture. it will be a one and only and special between the two of u and she can really appreciate it when she grows big

my friend made a scrap book of her nieces first year of life and all her achievements with photos and cutting of places she had visited and her first tooth, smile, crawl, when she learnt to walk and all that sort of thing and gave it to her for her first birthday and left a few pages in the back for her birthday pics and cuttings her sister cried when she gave to her daughter

hope you find an idea you like!

Put some money in her CTF account if she already has loads. She'll thank you for it later.

What about buying her a premium bond. My friends brother did this and they knew nothing about it until they won and they got a letter telling them they'd won.

I also like the charm bracelet idea and you can add to it every birthday.
  • Books, you can't go wrong with books, in fact I am now giving books to all my sons friends and my family children members.

Usborne do fantastic books. Especially hard back books suitable for this age group.

I'm not a particular fan of the Thats not a books that come in this range but I have copied you in on a link for the touchy feely books which would be ideal for now.
