HIPs, any thoughts?

Hi

I'm looking at putting my property on the market as soon as possible and came accross valuhips.co.uk.

I've spoken to these guys on the phone and they seem quite professional.

Has anyone had any experience with them in the past?

If someone could arecommend an alternative company or give me some feedback from their experience then that would be great also.

Thanks

I used valuhips when I put my house on the market in September (completion was in early Nov)- didn't talk to them by phone as I just ordered it on-line. I had no problems with them, the HIP arrived promptly and contained everything required.
  • I used http://www.myhiphome.co.uk/ they were very good don't know how they compare pricewise to valuhips they were cheapest I found at the time.

If you have a simple freehold house a cheap HIP should be fine but bear in mind anything complicated they are frequently wrong.

I used hips4u, paid an extra £20 for express service, all happened v quickly and smoothly.

I suggest you ring up the various HIP companies before committing to get their estimate of how long your HIP will take - some are slower than others and it depends on your local council too.
  • Or use an independant HIP provider close to you who you can deal with personally!
  • Hips4u, very quick and had no problems with them.

Wouldn't touch Value Hips with a bargepole, took 2 weeks to send a HIP link to me and this was after numerous telephone calls from both the client and myself, cheap but carp!
My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)
