    Hello and welcome.

I would defo give it a go for the sake of a few possible stamps.

Many on here have been successful in reclaiming as from the 1990's.

So there is no account number actually shown on your loan paperwork?
Normally the account number are on them, but if you any old bank statements, when the monthly repayments were being paid out, the account number is also normally shown next to the loan monthly repayments.

If you do not have these onhand and still with the same bank, also if you have online banking, it may be worth you checking it out on the statements online, this should allow you to go back as far as 5/6 years at least.

How long ago did you settle this loan?

  • hi there,
after taking the advice given regarding reclaiming ppi on my old loan,(no reply as yet) i decided to claim on a more recent ppi,i have just received a reply stating that because my complaint is more than 6 years old it does not automatically qualify for investigation, and it would be difficult to find any documents that would validate all the facts,(i sent a copy of my agreement at the time of writing to them). they are now advising me that they are unable to deal with my complaint and that this is their final response, they have advised me to contact the Finance and Leasing Association if i wish to pursue this matter.:confused:Can anyone tell me who these people are ,and are they any good at resolving this type of complaint?
thank you for any light you can shed on this subject,i do appreciate your comments.

    Hi Jim
Many have still been successful in reclaiming as from the 1990's, so keep at them.
May I ask you again what Finance company this is?

However, there is no harm in asking the FOS anyway, if they cannot investigate this through the broker, then they will consider the insurer/underwriter, do you know who these may be?

Hi Jim, and your most welcome.:A

I will have a look about and also check on Marshallka's sticky Resources thread as well, there may be some info on that thread of the underwriters, other than that I will try asking about for you and try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, hopefully others will post up as well who may have these details for you.;)

I have just had a scan through the competition commission document and cannot see FN or GE. Will try and find out though?
