hi there this is the first time ive been on this site and i really hope some one can help me
Ive been living in rented accommodation for 7 years now it is a private landlord and in the winter my house gets so cold and i am disabled. I always end up with pnewmonia (sry about the spelling) Wen i moved in to the property i got intouch with warmfront and they came and draft excluded all my windows and doors and insulated my loft. Now the winter is here some of my windows r double glazed but most of them arnt. I have big condensation problems as well. The landlord will not double glaze any more of the windows although he has told us that my sons bedroom window is breaking the law as its to low and my sons bedroom used to be a bathroom before we moved in and then he moved the bathroom downstairs, but he left the single glazed frosted window in there. What i was wondering is if there is anyone i can get intouch with to get a grant to put me double glazing in. My dinning room window is that old its one of them that u have to open with a string by pulling it but the landlord says int gonna cost him to much money to replace and i cant open it as its sealed shut. I would really appreciate it if anyone could advise me on this problem about getting a grant to replace the windows. Many thanks

Try CAB or Shelter they should be able to give you the advice you need especially if the landlord isnt within the regs, local council my be interested too.0

Thing is Julie, its the landlords house, not yours so its unlikely grants would be available to you. I think as Igol said contact CAB and Shelter and explain the situation. It may be that you could be fast tracked to a local authority property, particularly if you say you are disabled. Good luck.0
