just received a letter from sky tv to say that their prices are increasing from Jan 2010...
as with the orange "get out" a few weeks ago (which I was successful in getting)... if they change the prices I assume you can release yourself from their terms... can anyone confirm? I see no reason why it would be any different.
thanks

My understanding is that Sky's price increases only reflect the VAT rate going back up to 17.5% after the 2.5% 'holiday' the Chancellor so generously gave us. Even if they are increasing their prices, I'm sure that your contract with them would cover this.0 -
super-dad, in answer to your question yes l'm sure it would let you leave the contract.
EDIT: Unless it's that VAT adjustment others have pointed out, in which case it wouldn't be Skys fault the prices are changing and therefore contract would stil apply, best ring Sky for confirmation

And what everyone fails to remember, the price is only going back to what it was last year, before VAT went down so all in all, a bit petty.0

If this moves, I need to follow it. Not sure which forum it is.
I want out, as they have increased the broadband from £5 for 40gig limit to a 10gig limit. So They have automatically put my price up to £10 a month for unlimited broadband.0
