Eyebrow threading? Should i, shouldn't I?

Thank you all for replying. My eyebrows are light in comparison to my hair colour (dark brown), my eyebrow hairs are very light brown. I am thinking about having them shaped and threaded for a while so that I can colour them in with a darker eyebrow pencil and it will be less harsh if they aren't so thick. I think I am just terrified of hating the outcome more than the pain! I definitely want to get this done in that case and it might be best to get it done soon so that in case they do not look very good they will grow back in time for xmas??? Can anyone recommend any good places to go to in the Midlands? Many thanks. ZoeMummy to a beautiful 4 month old princess! x0

I think that it is very difficult to get threading wrong, as it is done bit by bit, unlike waxing where if they get it wrong, it's wrong big time! Look at the eyebrows of the ladies at the mall that are offering it - if they look good, then I think you can be reasonably confident in their abilities!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0

Thanks for that Jojo. I think I have definitely been persuaded to finally get it done now. Sounds like a good theory checking out their eyebrows first. If they are completely drawn on - then I will take that as a bad sign! lolMummy to a beautiful 4 month old princess! x0

As a threading and indeed waxing virgin can I ask is the thread actually like a cotton thread? I'm having trouble visualising it.
Thanks for taking the time to do such a detailed post, I found it really interesting!0 -
I'm thinking of having my eyebrows threaded too - they're quite thin, the hairs are fine and overall they're pretty light. Is it worth it? I have a pretty decent shape already but want them to look more defined, maybe a bit sharper. I've always thought threading was more suited to thick, dark eyebrows.0

Yes, it is cotton thread, twisted into a figure of eight to make the bit that lifts the hairs out. Less chance of allergies, too. If you go onto YouTube, there are loads of girls who will demonstrate how to thread - I haven't got the hang of it yet, but it is interesting to see. Here's one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F37Sl1c7BA0
I say go for it GG, it's very precise - and it's very common with Japanese girls, who tend to have very fine and sparse eyebrows too, tending towards a greyish colour rather than jet black.
My DD1 will have it done occasionally, as she has fine, white blonde eyebrows, and so whilst it isn't as obvious as with dark brows, it is subtly noticeable at opening up her eyes.
You get an absolutely perfect smooth base for applying your eye makeup too.
And, for about a fiver, if you don't like the results or feel that it doesn't notice enough, it's not too expensive.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Me too, the corners of my top lip are the worst
And yes the women will do your eyebrows according to your face and eye shape.
Its normal cotton, i.e sewing thread.0 -

I have had mine done three times.
The results are fabulous....at first!
A few days after I got spots on my eyebrows! Never had them before (or since!) so I put it down to the threading.
My friend is very dark skinned (i am fair) and has not had this problem, she aslo doesn't think it hurts at all.
My other friend (who is also blonde) had spots too!
It gives a fantastic result, very sharp unlike tweezing but it DOES hurt! but it is over with very quickly like waxing.
Give it a go, its the only way to see what you think!:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
