Be very careful when dealing with A +L
They state an amount in the balance that might not take account of any pending transfers. For goodness sake do your sums carefully. I am in the process of closing my account and was preparing to withdraw the final amount leaving £1. There is actually a pending amount which would have taken my account overdrawn. The whole staement layout appears to deliberately confuse
I will never again bank with A +L and my DH is also coming out. A +L seem to be going all out to get charges on people, even those who have never been overdrawn

Be very careful with your account closing procedure. If you don't fund the account with the required £500/month during the notice period, they may apply a £5 underfunding charge.
Just on the account itself, I'm very happy with mine. I've been with them since January, and so far I've had no problems.
I get 5.20% on my ISA, 5.15% on my OS2 account, and 5.00% on the first £2,500 in the current account.
I'm happy to spend a little time reading the T&C's, and operating my account within them, in order to benefit from these market-leading rates.0

Yep, A&L's online banking is the suckiest around.
 Barclays is the best.
The rest of their services however are pretty good and once you are used to the 'querks', it isn't too hard to manage.0

            Well said, chuckie.
The A&L internet banking is still evidently a few systems cobbled together and the balances shown need a lot of thought before you trust them.0
