I've won a holiday to Italy??

I've received an email telling me that I've won a 7 day sightseeing holiday for 2 through a company called EV Holidays.

The thing is, although I do enter a few comps etc online, I'm not entirely sure how I've won this holiday!

Anybody heard of this company? Should I be suspicious?

Thanks in advance

here are some charges for your "free" holiday:

"Certain optional services are offered in the Booking Pack: Optional Fixed Date and Seasonal surcharge (£108-£148), Local departure point supplement (£18-£45p.p.), Optional excursions from £30p.p., Half board meal plan (£140p.p. 5xdinner & breakfast), Single room supplement (£115p.p). Fuel surcharges may apply. If opting for a Non Fixed Date and Season Supplement Fee date then within 18 months you will receive notification of a travel date 7-30 days before departure, a fully refundable deposit of £150p.p. may be required to confirm booking and this will be returned to you after the holiday."

I like the £150per person deposit you have to pay

Just look up European Vacations on this site. They seem to make their money on all the extras they charge.

European Vacations are the company you've been contacted by - you can get the holiday free providing you can go when they say,use the airport of their choice, dont take up their "meal deal options" and dont go on their excursions - it's up to you how much the holiday will cost you, literally

Has any MSE member actually gone along with this and refused the offers of upgrades, meals, local airports etc etc and just paid the promised charge of £20 or so for registering?

  • Hi all
Just want to let everyone know that European Vacations is not a scam. I am one of the coach drivers for them. The coach is not a rust bucket, it a modern high spec vehicle. Travel and accomodation is free, you pay for seasonal supplements, pick up charge etc but there is no pressure to take up half board/excursions.They are good value holidays for people on a small budget. No one is going to offer you a completely free package holiday, what would be the point, they have to make money!! it is a clever way of marketing to suit peoples budget.I have been to many of the places mentioned on their website, and i recommend all of them, especially winter wonderland
