My policy matures in March and I got a statement from them. The policy was meant to pay out £29k but fell £1300 short despite me receiving green letters for the past 4 years. I phoned today regarding the matter but just got the company line about poor markets etc. I've given up on that matter, however my main point was that no information was given regarding the "further bonus" that was meant to be paid out on the maturing policy. She didn't know much about then went away and came back and said the further bonus was cancelled. I went a wee bit daft at that bit and accused the Pru of fraud, after all we were promised three things when we voted and I've only had two of them! Wonder if they have added it to the inherited estate? I've asked them to put it into writing and promised I would take it further. I'll let you know what it says.
Has anybody else out there received anything from the Pru about this "further bonus"?0 -

Which is totally correct. The global recession saw all asset classes lose money, including cash.however my main point was that no information was given regarding the "further bonus" that was meant to be paid out on the maturing policy.
They dont get added at the end. They accrue daily. It is the final bonus that goes up and down the most with the markets. They have been creeping up again recently.. I went a wee bit daft at that bit and accused the Pru of fraud
Pru didnt cause the recession or credit crunch. So, its a bit daft blaming them and as for accusing them of fraud, I dont know how you come by that opinion.Wonder if they have added it to the inherited estate?
No. Pru decided not to follow the others but instead to hold on to it to protect their reserves.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi Dunstonh
You posted recently that With Profit Pru/Scot Am Terminal Bonus %s may rise in Jan/Feb
Can you provide some figures now
This is vital to me as the only way mine is going to come near my figure is if the TB % rises from 30% for one policy and 34% for the other
Thanks so much agianHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I think the bonus the OP is referring to relates to the demutualisation some years ago.Part of the DM proceeds for members were to be payble at maturity as a special bonus. This was in addition to the usual final/terminal bonus.Trying to keep it simple...0 -
