    ... and I thought a chip buttie was decadent, never even thought of condensed milk buttie sprinkled with sugar - I'm sure my arteries hardened just thinking about it.

    well....I didn think of mentioning sugar as well though people would have though I really had lost the plot!

    So where does that leave me, phil? Totally beyond help, I suppose. :confused:

    I remember having toast with butter and sugar on it then being toasted again until it went crispy!
    We used to have cinnamon toast, buttered bread sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar then put under the grill. That was breakfast.

    my grandad introduced me to connie onnies when i was little..(thats what he called them condensed milk and sugar butties)

    now if only i could find butter pies again...no one down here believes me they exist..but they do on a sat night out in preston at the end of the night,i had butter pies,chips and gravy...drooollllll

    If you want 'decadence', fyp, a real treat would be a round of 'dripping' doorsteps, followed by the Condensed Milk and Sugar sandwiches, then mince pies.

    But that was only at Christmas. ;)

    Just remembered that the sugar toast was one of the recipes from a children's recipe book I had as a child!!!:rotfl:
