Where are they upto with the jabs? Who is in the frontline to get it? I told my little one in the summer that she wouldn't have to have any more jabs till she was 10.. i'm dreading tell her she might have to have the 'slime flu' one as she calls it.

ouch... :( hope you're ok apart from the bruised arm!
i've been offered the jab, i think i am going to have it, really don't want to risk being that ill on top of everything else!

I had mine yesterday after cancelling first appointment. Arm aches & head was a bit `fuzzy` & dizzy last night but no worse than usual annual flu jab.

I saw everyone else having it at the doctors & the threat of a bad bout of flu was enough to sway me to get the jab. There are a lot of folks that want it & don`t qualify.

Thurs looks best....working Friday. I`ll text you in week. x

My sis has the same condition & all you can do is rest & take care that you don`t overdo stuff.
  • Hi Miche....I was sat with a few ladies with serious chest conditions but quite a few pregnant ladies & children being done.

I was in the first tranch of call ups in my doctors. Now its done I`m glad I`ve had it. I am told that people who have the annual & Swine flu on same day have worse side effects.

There are 2 options on swine flu jab...some get a single shot & others have to have 2 jabs. I don`t know why that is.
  • Hi all, I'm t-total (pregnant, and not BR until 22nd Dec- fingers crossed) am I still welcome? hehe

Just to add my little winge about the swine flu vaccine-

Had it yesterday, 8 months pregnant, in left arm. Last night went to bed and couldn't lie on it as it was too painful! The nurse asked me which arm I wanted it in and if I had know I sould have said the right one as I cannot lie on my left side due to unborn baby using my right hip as a punch/kick bag.
I asked the nurse if there are any side effects and she said no... I checked online and the sore, swelling, pain, redness I have are all common!

Its been pretty bad today as well, haven't been able to lift anything much.

Also here is a paragraph from the DoH letter which explains why pregnant women are getting one jab instead of two-

Pandemrix as this vaccine appears to give adequate levels of antibodies after a single dose thereby conferring protection more rapidly than would be afforded by Celvapan. As pregnant women are at increased risk of severe disease and hospitalisation, it is vital that they are protected as soon as possible from swine flu infection.

The reason for the one jab Pandemrix is because it is effective straight away and the Celvapan jab takes three weeks as there are two jabs. Celvapan is suitable for people who have allergies to eggs and Pandemrix isn't.

AAAAAANYWHO I thought I'd add my little bit and take my first trip to the 'Inn' :D

Hope you are having a good evening
    x
  • Hiya...everyones welcome Honey.

When i was preganant I had pillows everywhere....I guess you will be the same.

Well done on the jab....its a dilema whether to have it or not but you can only go on Drs advice.

An alcohol free drinkie for you too:D:D
