NAh Sizzler, the roads are fine in the city, just i'm in the sticks and high up with it, We get cut off quite quickly as on a cross roads, two steep hills in two ways and winding country roads where it blizzards off the fields the other two ways.0

hi all,
well its snowing here so even if i could get down the steps (in mid flare up) i couldnt actually get to the car and then drive anywhere, so im in my usual place curled up on the sofa..
although tomorrow will have to send my son out to get some food and supplies..
hope your all ok, sorry been quiet having a rough time health wise again, this dratted fibro is evil - just hope i eventually get it under control.
so im bored, house bound and cant walk...need some entertainment or at least a distraction0 -
Well, wasnt too bad when i left the house, only a few hundred yards to my work and cars sliding all over.. smoke wheel spinning.. i managed to get to work. Within half hour we had 3inch, got a text to say they were sending the kids home.. luckily OH couldnt get off our street so was at home. was at work for 1hr in total, the boss phoned in and told everyone to go home before they were unable too.. a very scary journey home with a lorry facing me on the wrong side of the road and sliding everywhere.. shook me up but he had to reverse a mile down the hill i took it slow and stayed well back. eventually arrived home with reports of it set to get worse tonight so may not be at work tomorrow. Been along time since i saw snow like this...
ahhh well least im home :-)0 -
Aw Beth, I'm stuck in the house too but console yourself with not having kiddiwinkles running around. Amy hasn't got her slippers on, I keep nagging her cos it's so cold! Glad to do the dishes to warm me hands up!
I have a distraction, traffic lights going up outside my house, how is DH going to reverse the car in the snow covered drive tonight.. something else for me to worry about!0 -
Yeah at least your home and safe, I once got stuck up a hill, it shook me up for a long time - but i'm weak and feeble!
The gritting situation worries me, there can't be much left! Can anyone remember reports that we were goingt to have a mild winter in the Autumn? So funny, I don't know why they bother predicting!0 -
I have not seen any gritters around here... not since last february! think our local councils suck.. although I did see a few council bods digging folk out of snow on my way home.. surly the grit would be cheaper?
Hope your feeling better soon beth :-(0 -
I last drove on saturday when snow hit mapperly, a very hilly part of Nottingham, i slid down 2 hills -got very stressed and so im here again.
It cant make its mind up whether to set in or not.
Mich lol, i only have the teenager who hasnt surfaced yet, think he was up very late last night. bless him he bought me soup, and is going to do the tidying..
Im keeping a diary these days ready for applying for dla etc..phoned the council today about getting rehoused, will take ages but better to apply now while i can still get out on good days, rather than become totally housebound..
