Hi Guys.
Very miffed here so here goes.
Bough a core or arcade (what ever they were back then) in Aug 08 pre-owned. June 08 it RROD so take it back and get another one. In June 09 it went again so got another console, again pre-owned. Two weeks ago it went again so took it back, got another core/arcade. I then asked if I would trade that new one back in for an elite and pay the difference as I heard they didnt have issues. All was ok and they just had one traded in. I thought great and got it and paid the difference etc. TWO WEEKS it has gone again so I feel that it was traded in with RROD and the previous owner didnt tell gamestation this asit must of only done it the once or something but he wanted rid as it was out of the warranty so traded it in. Do I have any rights to ask for a NEW console this time bearing in mind I have had 4 and this will be my 5th in about 15months ish?

I thought they 90 days guarantee on used consoles. No you don't have nay rights to new console and don't think they would but you can ask.
You only have repair, replace for same value(ie another used console) or refund But its up tp them which one. They knock something off for your bother if there feeling genrous.0 -
12months warranty on consoles as per their reciept. 99% certain of it but dont have the receipt to hand. Surely if this is the 4 one in 15months we all know there is a issue with them. Do they not have a moral obligation to provide me with a working unit?0

They don't deliberately give you units which will break down in the future. (Or maybe with the time-travelling one they did)
See if they'll credit the amount towards a new console, with you paying the rest.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Buy a PS3 next time and save yourself the hassle.0

Not too difficult to fix RROD if you are vaguely technical. OH has done a couple now with a kit from ebay
(I still prefer my PS3 though!)0 -
Gamestation are taking the mick now.
I phoned them yesterday and said do you have any elites in stock as I want to bring this one back, exchange it and buy a new elite and pay the difference etc. The reply was sorry havent got any in but expecting some tomorrow. Fine I thought so I decided to go down this afternoon and change it. I thought just before I go to save me a trip I will check if they had any in stock as yet. Phoned them again and was told no they are coming tomorrow now so I thought right ok and asked to reserve one and he took my name. Brilliant I thought.
I then thought there is no point in me getting an elite as I have a 120gb hard drive so will just trade that in and be done with it and use the arcade with my hard drive.
Took the console back tonight and said I want to bring this back due to RROD etc. He said had I got the hard drive on it as without that its a core. which is clearly isnt as its black!
I said to him no I havent as when I bought it you said I could trade it in as I have a HDD already. Well we need a HDD to send back with it so the only option you have is to go on ebay and get a cheap 120gb HDD or bring yours in. Then he said or you could ring microsoft and get them to replace it. I just laughed and said its 2 weeks old. He wasnt prepared to do anything at all so for the 2nd time I had to go home carrying my xbox again.
Would a letter to head office get me anywhere as this will now be my 5th box in 15months0 -

He's right. It's pretty much a core with an HDMI port I think, it's an Elite due to the 120GB HD.0 -
yes i accept that but they already have the hard drive that came with it traded in as thats what they advised to do. Not my issue really.
Stupid moron could of at least gave me a credit note for an elite to save me carting it back home again!!!0 -
If you bought a new elite and sold the harddrive i doubt theyd let you take it back without the harddrive, whys this different?0
