LAN = network, big companies use them, you don't generally use them at home, UNLESS, you have a WIRED MODEM / ROUTER, or xbox live, etc
WLAN = wireless LAN, i.e. WIFI
you can buy a card for a tenner (usb or PCMCIA) so dont let the lack of wireless be a decision
it IS a fairly good purchase for those on a budgetmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)
