Factory rework with 6 month warranty, but otherwise looks a bargain

WLAN being Wireless LAN???bobdauilda wrote:its not WLAN though is it?
Thought you just meant it had no networking card, in which case I was just pointing out that I think it has - with built in LAN. (ie RJ45 socket)
I'm guessing here, but if it has pcmcia slots, can't you just add a wireless LAN card for £10-£20?Be an amateur! Professionals built the Titanic, amateurs built the Ark!!

A decent price for a laptop but a word of warning - I had an Acer travelmate and it was one of the worst laptops I have ever used. Always overheating, flimsy lid catches, the buttons/trackpad wore down - and Acer themselves are useless.
Never had a moment's problem with my 2nd hand IBM thinkpad, my OH has a new Dell laptop and that's brilliant for £380.
Ended up selling the Acer on ebay as I was so sick of it!0 -
what does a networking card do please0

It's for connecting to a network (of computers) via a hard-wired connection. In a domestic household you might use it if your ADSL modem also acted as a router.
A Wi-FI card fulfills the same purpose except it's wireless.0
