My friend has the above back boiler with the baxi bermuda w front heater and was wondering what options do they have with regards to putting a fireplace in the front or removing the heater altogether- can it work with out?
They are reluctant to change the boiler as it has been very reliable for the past few years but want to change the front.
Thanks

on some baxis bermudas you can change the front fire, but not all the models.
you cannot operate the boiler alone. it must have the front fire fitted.
trouble is that the baxi fires are very expensive. far more than most gas fires.
nearly as cheap to buy a new combi boiler.Get some gorm.0 -
Yeah like Ormus said it is really expensive and you have to stick to baxi fire fronts...we had to change the back boiler and fire front (baxi)....and its the one thing in the house that cost the most...has your friend seen the prices???

I got the Ks super firefront and a compatable boiler.....the firefront alone according to this is over a grand...thats without the fireplace, mantle and boiler.....I looked into everything like getting a B&Q fire front, boxing it in...changing to another boiler moving it to the kitchen etc but it couldn't be done (well the moving could have but was told it was a hassle and alot of pipe work and i'd be left with a huge hole in the living room etc etc)....
I was lucky enough to know someone working in a shop that sold it all...thank god so I got a pretty good discount....otherwise I don't know what we would have done....
I was also going to get charged £500 for a firm to fit just the fireplace...not the firefront or the boiler just the fireplace.....found a corgi guy that fitted the whole lot though for the £500 so feel extremely lucky.
good luck xYou may walk and you may run
