Its not all bad

I would just like to share my experience with some of you who are going through the process of redundancy.

I was told back in May that I was going to be made redundant (Still there at the moment until December) and thought that it was the end of the world. I soon contacted some employment agencies who told me that things were very quiet and it wouldn't be easy to find myself a new role. This did demoralise me somewhat at the time.

However I kept the faith in my own ability and kept trying the agencies and recently things have really started to pick up, so much so I managed to get a few interviews. Last week I managed to get 2 job offers from these interviews and have today accepted one of the roles. Not only do I now have a new job to start in January I have even managed to secure myself a 33% pay rise.

So my message to you all is some good can come out of the situation you just need to keep the faith.

  • Well done!
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.
  • As someone who has also been made redundant recently and is looking for work this is positive news. Well done and hopefully things are picking up as you say.

Congratulations on the new job and salary increase! It is really good to hear a positive story, my bf is currently being made redundant, and although there are less jobs, there still are some jobs around - it's cheered me up!
  • that is wonderful news to hear :)

especially when most days we hear about thousands of people losing their jobs
Martin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.
