  • anyone been into miller brothers? they've been bought out by empire direct and are selling off all the stuff empire dont want to stock.
a guy at work picked up a 26" lcd (thomson) for £300
they've all long gone in the derby store.
i managed to pick up a humax pvr8000t
hard drive digital tv recorder for £40. - pretty chuffed with that.
not a lot left but worth a look.
  • Reading through the rest of the merged thread there seems to be a misunderstanding.

empire direct have bought them out. i dont know about all store but certainly the derby branch is re-opening as an empire direct store selling all goods at net prices. they're having a proper clear out before re-stocking. definitely worth a look if your local branch is having this type of sale, and don't forget - HAGGLE - i got an extra tenner off for printing my own instructions from the web and i bagged a free england teddy for my daughter and a world cup football for the lad.
both should have been £2 each...
  • does anybody know wether the wigan branch is still open or even the reebok stadium bolton?
    Thanks

Shop looked like it was a set from "Life on Mars" apart from the modern goods. Expected to see the words Morris, Austin and Alegro on cars outside.....
I can remember when Comet was a warehouse with a counter. Goods were a lot cheaper than anywhere else. Then they started to go from a small display area to a larger one and then into the big chain store they are today. They piled them high, they sold them cheap. Now we have the shopping experience and pay handsomely for it.....Personally, I'd trade the airconditioned showroom for cheaper prices.
