0.79% lifetime above base rate - can't be too bad

Really2's got 0.49% above base IIRC

Thats correct, First Direct Lifetime tracker. No exit fee, but the entrance fee was steep.

Think that kind of offer was 3 years tops. Most will have finished now.

BoE -0.29 for a further 10 months, then BoE +0.21 for term on a £350k mortgage (well it was before overpayments).

Currently costs me £61 in interest a month.

    Car: a fast one
House: just a London flat worth less than I paid, but more than the mortgage

I was lucky to get a 250k interest only mortgage through a company called InsideTrack. The rate is 8.34% but because its interest only it actually works out cheaper than other products. I plan to pay it off in thrity years time using an endowment policy also with the same company.

So don't just be misled by looking for rates. It's deals that count, as I was informed at the time.

nice work Mewbie - i thought that you and the wife rented whilst the kids were at university

i have residential at 0.9% + BOE rate and BTL at 0.34% + BOE rate

happy days and makes my residential mortgage paid much earlier - thank you Mr Brown

  • I think the best deal is with Oakwood Home Loans, they just paid my client £57,000 to take his business to another lender, they also waived all exit fees.
