Thanks for looking, pullip. That was expensive:eek: I only paid £250 for the car :rotfl:

I got the shock of my life when i turned a corner and got an armful of freezing cold water though lol!! Maybe i should install an umbrella to the roof of the car :rotfl: I do have my MOT soon so will ask the mechanic for his opinion if he seems friendly enough, although if i can patch it myself somehow then i will cos i'm skint!!

Oh believe me I sobbed a little that day  In my case the car has still only done 24k so it was worth it for me to get it sorted. As far as I can tell I don't have any leaks now, but it rattles to !!!!!!y. I solved this by installing a better stereo :D

I dont know for sure if the multi timer is in the same place as mine so I wouldn't panic (cant recall what year Clio's changed shape on but mine is the newer shape) but its something to be mindful of. Mine started with the indicators not working, followed by lights etc

If it makes you feel any better I also drive an 82 TR7 convertible that soaks you to the skin in every storm ;)

My old clio had the same thing, I resorted to aquarium sealant around the sunroof and aerial base!
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Unfortunately that's exactly where mine came in but the initial entry point was still the sunroof. There's some sort of reservoir thingy inside where it gathered. Got worse every time I turned a corner and it sloshed out.
I hope yours is easy to sort but I have to say my experience showed otherwise - I initially thought the water was coming in through the aerial as well.

Sounds identical to mine, with the sloshing on corners :(

Why is it one thing after another with these cheap cars i insist on buying? :o:rolleyes::(

I've only driven it twice since the problem has become known and both times was in the dark so i'll have a good look in the morning, and see if i can figure out how to undo it, if that's even possible:confused:

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • people forget that cars with sunroofs do need maintenance

nearly everyone i know has had a leaky sunroof at some point, when you ask if they have done any maintenance on it, nooooooo

5 minutes later, damp cloth to clean it all up. its fixed
  • Ensure the drainage holes in the sunroof aren't blocked by goo, and clean the seals, finishing off with a silicone spray around the rubbers. If any of the seals look cracked or damaged, order replacements from the parts dept. of your nearest dealer.

Good clean up and silicone oil spray nearly always worked for me.
