Natwest/RBS in branch machines will despense coins over the coming months so watch this space :D

    Excellent!

Even though, I don't bank with them, I should go there and withdraw money from their cash machines. Sometimes I need odd amounts for my driving lessons (£21 per hour), and other things. I need to always borrow £1 off parents. :o

I hope other banks will follow.

On another note, I think ASDA self check out gives change out in coins and notes, like what RBS/Natwest wants to do in the near future with their cash machines.

You still have options, buy something worth £4.50 with your debit card. Transfer it to another bank account or CC to pay it off etc

NAtionwide do this already. Its a bit annoying , mainly for older people (like my mum) who really prefer going into a branch. But as you say, they are not bothered at all.

  • There are exceptions which are common sense ones. What they want is rid of people in the queue who can access accounts by other means ie ATM or online banking. At the moment the branches are in the 'encouragement' stage. From Dec 1st they move to the enforcement phase!

Where are these mythical cash point machines that dispense £5 notes cos there certainly aint any round here  oh thats so annoying.
Someone will normally post and say that you'll find them at universities. My university as an on-site Natwest which doesn't dispense £5 notes. Also the ATM at the union doesn't give out fivers, neither do any of the machines at local banks. In fact, I haven't seen a cash machine dispense a fiver for many years.

Was told that the slot would just be for change when you're paying a bill (and you had more than the required amount)
Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion :p

Yes it applies to bradford and bingley customers as well. Common sense will be applied as mentioned above with certain exemptions, e.g under £10 in account, atms not working in branch, etc.
