im not at all atrekkie, so wasnt getting hyped as much as others may have been, but i think its a great stand alone film. very clever little touches here and there, and the mannerisms of the characters are easy to see in the older actors. great film!
  • I actually thought it was an excellent film.
Lots of fanboys/trekkies slated it before it was released, because it had a young cast and completely went against the history of how the crew came to be aboard the USS Enterprise.
However, that's all a part of the actual plot of the film:

    !!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!

It's an "alternate timeline" due to Nero travelling back to right the wrongs that Spock carried out on him.

    !!!SPOILER OVER!!!!!

I never liked any of the "Next Generation" movies, so maybe that's why I have no issue with the new movie.
If there's on major gripe I have, it's that of Simon Pegg being cast as Montgomery Scott - complete miscasting.

Great film.I have it on blu ray.
  • I enjoyed it. because it played on the parallel universe themes that Star Trek jumps into. And its open for a complete new version of the Star Trek world. maybe Star Trek meets Lost

Any one seen a Blu-Ray copy less than £17 anywhere?

Not a Trekkie but I enjoy it!!
