It is also possible that he actually wants the flat but changed his mind last minute?? Or thought you wouldn't sell to him?? Just a guess.

When is the last time you had a problem with him?

Not sure I understand full details, but I presume you work and by the time you come home, his shop is closing soon?

Just keep you head down and hope it sells quickly.

    Hi Soprano,

Just to clarify, a woman Named Mrs Lawson put the offer in (the shop owners surname is something else), the solicitors she appointed were the same solicitors that the shop owner used against me a couple of years ago, which prompted me to compare the shop owners home address (which I "aquired" some time back) with hers, as I couldnt get over the coincidence. When I compared addresses, they were almost identical, apart from what appeared to be a couple of typos (which could have been deliberate). The shop owner has no reason to think that I knew where he lives. Had he used a different solicitor, I would have never looked up the address & would never have known.

The next morning after "Mrs Lawson" pulled out, I went into his shop before work.

His look as I entered the shop was one of uncertainty, not knowing how to greet me.
"Hello mate, how's it going?" I said, - all smiles.
"So, (nice as pie) - who's this Mrs Lawson?"
<very confused & almost stunned look - you could see his brain working at 100mph>
"Eh?" <more blank looks> "Mrs Lawson??" - he quetions.
"Is she your Mrs?" I asked.
"Er.... - yeah". <still sporting a stupid confused look on his face, probably wondering how the hell I know that Mrs Lawson is affiliated with him & also wondering how I found out where he lives>.

I asked him what happened & why she pulled out, & out came the pre-planned excuse he had for the EA (I reckon). He said that the bank refused to give them a 100% BTL mortgage as it wouldnt cover the rent.

The EA already told me that she was a part cash part mortgage buyer.
He drives a £40,000 brand new Merc & owns his own business, - do you really believe he'll get 100% mortgage?
Did he forget the name of his wife?

As soon as the pressure went on to them, she bottled it & pulled out. As far as I can see they had no intention to buy.

The bloke is thick as pig sh1te, - he genuinely believed that I would never find out it was him imho.

He just sounds like a moron. My advice, as a self-confessed part-time antagonist myself (or "git" for short), is to just ignore him. He won't get any greater satisfaction than you getting upset and ranting & raving at him while he stands there feeling untouchable knowing he's got to you. So try and shrug it off and be all smiles and whistles when you see him (like you were before). He'll really hate that and then he'll just get bored and leave you alone.

    PS
    Slash his tyres.

Why did the shop keeper need to use a solicitor against you a few years back? If you've already been in dispute with the bloke, you will have to declare it.

    Cheers Steve! :) lol!

    MyUserNamesTaken,

erm, well, how can I cut a year and a half down to a few sentences...

Well, amongst other petty things, there was an issue over parking. - There you go! :) Sorry, it's a very long drawn out affair which stems from his bitterness, pettyness & motivation to make my home life a misery.

Yeah, i'm aware of the dispute thing, I've spoke at length about this with my solicitor, we've covered it - it won't be a problem.

It's a question on the form you have to fill in. Don't declare it and your purchaser can sue if they end up with similar problems. PLENTY of cases where this has happened and seller has ended up paying damages.

You don't have to declare but it might end up costing a load of dough if you don't.

It's all a question of wording. Covering your !!!!!!, legally, & making it sound like nothing to be concerned about.

I would not have thought you would actually see this loon very often. Do you not work while his shop is open? Excluding week ends I suppose?

Yes - that's right, which is partly the reason I brought the place, as, by the time I get home in the evening, I have no neighbours whatsoever - I can play music, or turn up the home-cinema as loud as I like, anytime, - turn it off & it's dead silent.

Swings & roundabouts as .tend to start work early, & there's not a huge amount of sound-proofing (carpet, wooden floor-board, plasterboard!).

As you say - we hardly see each other, but he's obviously still holds a grudge against me.
