Would be good to know if you can beat the dealer price! Keep us updated :) A car with more than one key should be slightly easier to sell on I think anyway as the buyer knows it's not something they have to worry about.

i couldn't get hold of anyone on the link posted above but i have found a locksmith through this agency http://www.locksmiths.co.uk/default.asp

the locksmith can cut me a key for the car total cost £30.00

i explained about the imobiliser chip in the key but the locksmith said he can do it and it will only be £30.00

massive saving compared to the dealers price

The dealers all go to the local locksmith who can read and then copy chipped keys. I bought a Vectra a few years ago now, only one key, Direct Cars gave me a chitty to take to the local place, Pollards for anyone in derbs, cheaper by far than VX etc,
One locksmith chappy posted on here that they can now do credit card keys such as renault use, :T:T:T, things just lag a little but the independants catch up very quickly:T
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Hi all sorry I keep missing these posts, most Auto locksmiths can copy car keys if you need one in your area the 2 sites to look at are:

    http://www.autolocksmiths.net/
    http://theinstituteofcertifiedlocksmiths.org/findalocksmith.htm

if you need any further help please PM me.
  • Will any of these provide a key for a roofbox? Left mine in my old house and it seems so expensive to replace going through Halfords.

If you are still looking for a locksmith in the birmingham area I can recommend Ian Jameson from remote key.
