Belfast sink question

Hi all,
I'm looking for a protective wire basket to sit inside our belfast sink (std size 595x460x255mm) as we're breaking a lot of stuff of late in it.
I've looked high and low both in high street and online, any idea who might be able to sell me one of these to fit the sink?
Thanks!
F

Hi,
I must admit I haven't seen the baskets you mention.
I just lay a folded tea towel at the bottom of mine (gran's advice
).
Maybe that'll work for you too.

You can buy Franke ones on-line ... they wouldn't specifically fit your sink ... you'd just have to work out which one was the best size (might mean going to Franke's website and checking their sink sizes):

Tesco sell a plastic mat for the bottom of your sink in grey or white from around 90p.0

Thanks all .. Franke link drew a blank sadly.
Missus definitely wants a basket, no mats
Can't believe nobody makes one for a sink that's been nicknamed 'the destroyer'

Acrylic type sinks used to be all the rage a few years back, most of them would have come with a basket type add on, any kitchen unit supplier worth there salt should know of these, might not be as big as what your looking for though.Norn Iron Club member No 3530

This one and a few more at Wickes.
Now you know why people chucked their Belfast sinks at the first opportunity

....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Why not use a wasing up bowl inside the sink? saves water and will remain hotter for longer ?0

People who make sinks hate washing up bowls ... they trap little bits of grit underneath and scratch the sink surface. Mind you ... I use one myself!I write blogs about kitchens ... and I design kitchens for a living ... I just love kitchens!0
