Left over Euros Coins can you help?

I have loads of left over euros but they are all in coins I would like to use them up and purchase something but I cant find any bank or shop that accept Euros. I have had a look on line and found a few articles on the subject but when I check out the details they seem to be wrong. I.e Mark & Spencer did at one time take them but now they don’t. Can any anyone help? Have you paid for any items with Euros lately. I would be very grateful for any information or advice.:j

Nobody will accept coins, you would be best off selling them to a friend that is going to Eurozone in the future.

Just hold on to them until you next go to a Eurozone country - they don't expire.

Or, as above, you'll probabaly know someone that is going at some point (Xmas booze cruise to France? Visiting Xmas markets in Belgium? Spring weekend break in Spain? etc)

  • I know i could keep them and use them in the future but I have got about £50.00 and i could do with the money to buy a few christmas gifts. I honestly thought some shops would take them. I hate to see the money just sitting around.

Or, how about ebaying them (like this guy is - currently at £9.05 for €10 in coins).

You might not get the full value for them, but getting something may be better than nothing...

My local independent bureau de change accepts euro coins but you get a worse exchange rate than with notes. Similarly, they will sell you euro coins but at a lower rate than notes.
  • i put my 1 euro coins in one of those coinstar machines in asda and it thought they were pounds. you could always give it a go!
